Job Description:
Civil / Structural PE (Professional Engineer) needed in expansion of our Foundation
Investigation Unit; currently consisting of 6 people (1 PE, 2 engineering field
technicians; 1 Draftsperson; and 2 Job-Coordinator / Report-Facilitators). The
unit's focus is on "team investigation and failure analysis" of residential
foundations, relating to claims and disputes (some commercial work).
PE's are occasionally (i.e. 'rarely') required to appear at
arbitration meetings to support final report conclusions (NOTE: only 2 arbitration's last
year; of nearly 300 jobs). Must supply your own vehicle, required for field-work
(~20% drive-time). Job sites are mostly local, in the Dallas area (mileage
reimbursed). Occasionally required to enter a confined space to inspect beneath a
structure. Some outdoor exposure while visiting job sites--rain or shine, all year
long.

Responsibilities:
"Final Reports" (edit and review engineering field technicians' reports,
final approval and sign with PE State seal stamp); "Unit-Senior-Engineer job-site
visits" (to briefly interface with the property owner and insurance adjuster, and
review / concur with the field tech's general assessment of the situation); and where
possible, "contribute to the overall team effort", relevant to the
individual's "skill-set" and talents (e.g. project work, sales and marketing,
unit management, quality control, etceteras).
Job Requirements:
Texas PE registration; civil or structural engineering degree; minimum 3 years work
related experience (5 years preferred); Texas drivers license; detail oriented;
professional appearance / demeanor; ability to analyze and solve complex problems;
proficiency in English written and oral
communications; ability to interact with others, and team oriented.
Background in the following a plus:
Residential / commercial design and construction experience; AutoCAD; Office97
Professional (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access); Windows NT or 95.
